ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and meticulous Finance Administrator to join our fast-growing property investment and short-term rental (Proptech) business.
This role is critical to ensuring financial accuracy, reporting integrity, and operational efficiency across our growing property portfolio.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in finance and accounting, with an interest in the property and short-term rental industry, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively across departments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Operations & Record Keeping
- Record and track daily income and expenses across the business
- Allocate income and expenses accurately to each property/unit
- Monitor and manage subscriptions, debit orders, and recurring expenses
- Process and manage staff reimbursements
Revenue & Portfolio Tracking
- Track all booking platform revenue (Airbnb, Booking.com, LekkeSlaap, etc.)
- Monitor property-level performance and profitability
- Assist with revenue management and reporting
- Track and manage incentives and performance-based earnings
Reconciliations & Payments
- Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations
- Ensure accuracy of all financial records and transactions
- Process payments to contractors, suppliers, and service providers
- Prepare and manage owner statements
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare monthly management accounts (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet)
- Assist with cash flow management and forecasting
- Compile weekly and monthly financial reports
- Analyse financial data to support business decision-making
Tax, Payroll & Compliance
- Manage VAT tracking, reconciliation, and reporting
- Handle PAYE submissions and payroll processing (payslips, SARS documentation)
- Ensure compliance with all financial and tax regulations
- Liaise with external auditors and accountants
Budgeting & Strategic Support
- Assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts
- Provide financial insights to support property acquisitions and investments
- Analyse company performance and provide recommendations to leadership
General Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Respond to financial queries across departments
- Support the Founder and leadership team with financial insights
- Perform any additional financial or administrative duties as required
REQUIREMENTS
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
- Experience in a finance, accounting, or bookkeeping role
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Tech-savvy and comfortable using accounting systems and spreadsheets
ADVANTAGEOUS
- Experience in property, hospitality, or short-term rental finance
- Knowledge of VAT, PAYE, and South African tax regulations
- Experience with financial reporting and management accounts
