We are looking for experienced, detail-oriented Property Hosts who are passionate about hospitality and operational excellence. This is an opportunity to join one of South Africa’s leading short-term rental operators and play a key role in delivering exceptional guest experiences while supporting the growth of our portfolio.

Depending on your experience, skills, and leadership ability, successful candidates may be appointed as either a Junior Property Host or Senior Property Host.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Property Host is the frontline representative of Alimama Spaces and plays a critical role in delivering exceptional guest experiences while ensuring our properties operate efficiently.

You will be responsible for managing day-to-day property operations, coordinating with multiple departments, resolving guest issues, conducting inspections, and ensuring every property consistently meets Alimama Spaces’ quality standards.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, is highly organised, thrives under pressure, and takes pride in delivering outstanding service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Guest Experience & Hospitality

• Act as the primary point of contact for guests before, during, and after their stay.
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest enquiries, requests, and complaints.
• Coordinate guest check-ins and check-outs.
• Resolve guest concerns efficiently while maintaining exceptional customer service.
• Protect and enhance the Alimama Spaces brand through outstanding guest experiences.

Property Operations

• Ensure all properties are guest-ready before every arrival.
• Conduct regular property inspections and quality assurance checks.
• Complete pre-arrival and post-departure inspections.
• Coordinate housekeeping, maintenance, and suppliers to ensure operational excellence.
• Assist with onboarding new properties into the portfolio.
• Ensure company standards and SOPs are consistently maintained.

Coordination & Administration

• Work closely with Property Portfolio Managers, Operations teams, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Finance.
• Maintain accurate operational records and reports.
• Coordinate daily operational tasks across multiple properties.
• Assist with scheduling and operational planning.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

• Minimum 2 years’ experience within the short-term rental, hospitality, serviced apartment, hotel, or property management industry.
• Experience using a Property Management System (PMS) such as:
  • Hostaway
  • Guesty
  • Lodgify
  • Hospitable
  • Boom
  • NightsBridge
  • Similar property management software
• Strong understanding of Online Travel Agencies (OTAs), including:
  • Airbnb
  • Booking.com
  • LekkeSlaap
  • Google Vacation Rentals
  • Expedia
  • Vrbo
• Excellent guest communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• High attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.
• Tech-savvy and comfortable learning new software and systems.
• Professional, responsible, and reliable.
• Strong coordination and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Based in Johannesburg or Pretoria.
• Willing to work weekends and public holidays.
• A valid driver’s licence is essential.
• Having a reliable vehicle is advantageous.

Advantageous

• Experience managing multiple properties simultaneously.
• Experience conducting quality inspections.
• Leadership or mentoring experience.
• Revenue management or pricing knowledge.
• Experience working within a growing short-term rental business.
